The mill of the Polder Buitenweg (also called Buitenwegse Molen) is a hollow post mill located just outside the village of Oud-Zuilen, in the Dutch province of Utrecht. The mill from 1830 was operational until 2016. In 1931 the paddle wheel was replaced by an open screw pump (Dekker pump). In the night of 14 to 15 March 2016, the mill was seriously damaged by fire. The cause of the fire was probably arson. On April 18, 2017, the remains were transported to the Beijk mill maker's workshop in Limburg to be completely restored there. De molen van de Polder Buitenweg (ook Buitenwegse Molen genaamd) is een wipmolen iets buiten het dorp Oud-Zuilen gelegen, in de Nederlandse provincie Utrecht. De molen uit 1830 was tot 2016 maalvaardig. In 1931 werd het scheprad vervangen door een open schroefpomp (Dekkerpomp). |
