The Red-blue chair by Rietveld is his most famous piece of furniture. Rietveld's design for this chair dates from 1917. He made a first prototype in 1918. With this armchair, Rietveld reduced the traditional armchair to 13 slats with a square profile, 2 armrests with a rectangular profile and 2 rectangular panels that form the seat and backrest.
