Roghmuscaethuis Utrecht Netherlands

In the courtyard of the penultimate post, to the left of the white building, is this beautiful house. The Roghmuscet House (Roghmuscaethuis). It was built in 1415 by order of the priest Roghmuscaet, the first resident. After his death in 1437, he donated it to the Regulierenklooster. Since 1580 it has served as the residence of the last monks of that monastery. At the beginning of the 17th century it was converted into an orphanage. It is currently in use as an out-of-school care facility. With the entire complex (see 2 previous posts) it has the status of a national monument. A very extensive study has been published about the complex.
In het hofje van de voorlaatste post staat, links van het witte gebouw, dit mooie huis. Het Roghmuscaethuis. Het is gebouwd in 1415 in opdracht van priester Roghmuscaet, de eerste bewoner. Deze vermaakte het na zijn dood in 1437 over aan het Regulierenklooster. Sinds 1580 diende het als verblijf van de laatste monniken van dat klooster. Begin 17e eeuw is het verbouwd tot weeshuis. Tegenwoordig is het in gebruik als buitenschoolse opvang. Met het gehele complex (zie 2 vorige posts) heeft het de status rijksmonument. Over het complex is een zeer uitgebreids studie verschenen.
