Villa Lievendaal was built in 1862 on a hill along the Zocherpark. In the hill is still a part of the old city wall. The villa is designed in Eclectic style. Architect, urban planner, landscape architect and artist Jan David Zocher (1791-1870) was partly responsible for the design of this villa. Many green facilities in the city, including those around the Stadsbuitengracht, are out of his hand.
Villa Lievendaal is in 1862 gebouwd op een heuvel langs het Zocherpark. In de heuvel bevindt zich nog een deel van de oude stadsmuur. De villa is ontworpen in Eclectische stijl. Architect, stedebouwkundige, landschapsarchitect en kunstenaar Jan David Zocher (1791-1870) was medeverantwoordelijk voor het ontwerp van deze villa. Veel groenvoorzieningen in de stad, waaronder die rondom de Stadsbuitengracht, zijn van zijn hand.
